Johnny’s most famous song (“Lookin’ for Love”) was featured in one of my favorite movies, Urban Cowboy. It arguably was the movie’s theme song.

Oct. 2024: The house band at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas plays Johnny’s hit song. Billy Bob’s opened its doors in 1981, a year after another famous honky tonk in Pasadena, Texas named Gilley’s was prominently featured in Urban Cowboy. Gilley’s Nightclub in Pasadena eventually closed and burnt down ten years later.
