My visit to Billy Bob’s Texas…

The world’s largest honky tonk!

A memorable Saturday night.

Saturday night at Billy Bob’s.

My family and I experienced the legendary Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth on Saturday night (10/19). At 100,000 square feet of interior space and nearly 20 acres of parking, Billy Bob’s is the world’s largest honky tonk.

And, there definitely was a lot to see and take in. We especially enjoyed the bull-riding and the live music, two things that set Billy Bob’s apart.

We even had a “special” guest. The Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull!

Billy Bob’s opened its doors in 1981, a year after another famous honky tonk (the former Gilley’s) was featured in one of my favorite movies, “Urban Cowboy”.

An ode to Gilley’s…

Several artists including George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt performed on the “Honky Tonk Stage” as the house band before hitting the big time.

All in all, we had a great time!
