It’s Toxictober!
Time for a Jam!
Oh, what a night! Thank you, Barley’s Kitchen + Tap for having us again. And, thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday night for a great evening of music and fun… Y’all brought the energy (and the dance moves)!

Upside down… Our band (Toxic A$$ets) is fairly guitar-centric. And, while our setlists usually include a wide variety of songs, other instruments, especially keyboards, bring added layers and ultimately allow for a broader sound. Most importantly, this harmonic accompaniment further supports the melodies of our lead vocalists, Antoinette and Brad. Unfortunately, our previous guest keyboardist (and our keyboard) are still “in the wind”, whereabouts unknown. Although these situations can turn your plans “upside down”, it is also important to remember that opportunities are all around you, all of the time; adversity into opportunity…
Something new… My first show on the keys!

Something new? Why not. For example, research shows that learning how to play an instrument can improve your overall brain health. Such effort can also lead to the generation of new cells and synapses. Our keyboard “situation” provided me with an opportunity to pick up a new instrument, grow as a musician, and further contribute to our band in a different way; a “win-win”. Sure, I had a few missed chords, but it was worth it. Don’t be afraid to try something new, especially when you’re upside down…
That’s “Bebop Beck” tearing up the dance floor!

Until next time…
