Fly Like an Eagle was a commercial success, spawning three hit singles: the title track, "Take the Money and Run" and "Rock'n Me". Produced by Steve himself, the album remains a staple of Rock, with its singles having remained in constant rotation on Classic Rock radio in the United States and worldwide. In 2025, Fly Like an Eagle was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry. The album’s second single "Rock'n Me" achieved lasting commercial and critical success, with the publication Billboard labeling it "an immediate audience grabber". The song became the band's second #1 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, whereas the title track peaked at #2.
