Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Uh-huh!

Thank you John!

This memorable album was released on October 25, 1983.

This is the cover art for the album Uh-Huh by the artist John Cougar Mellencamp. The cover art copyright is believed to belong to the label, Riva Records, or the graphic artist(s).

And, like the well-aged family photos adorning the walls of my grandparents’ rural home, both Country music and Classic Rock staples from artists like Mellencamp, Skynyrd, and ZZ Top, were seemingly always in the background for those times spent with loved-ones, not-so-loved-ones, and all those in between; Great times spent emptying a few magazines, drinking a few beers, and strumming a few sing-a-longs, all while enjoying lots of country cookin’.

This song is a great, high-energy rocker that makes you wanna dance. The video was an MTV staple…

This was one of my late father’s favorite songs from the ‘80s. The song and its video were seemingly made for road trips and a little introspection…

In 2013, Mellencamp told Rolling Stone, "I wanted to write a song that said, 'You don't have to live in New York or Los Angeles to live a full life or enjoy your life.' I was never one of those guys that grew up and thought, 'I need to get out of here.' It never dawned on me. I just valued having a family and staying close to friends.”
