Let’s Dance!
This memorable movie had its theatrical release on February 17, 1984.
This is a poster for the movie “Footloose”.
“Back in 1984, things were looking up, at least in my little corner of the world. This was the time when my decade-long dance with “The Beautiful Game” would begin and when I also mastered some totally rad tricks on my Raleigh BMX. 1984 was when I became lifelong friends with Ren McCormack, Officers Jones, Mahoney and Tackleberry, Daniel LaRusso, Professors Venkman, Stantz, and Spengler, and later, the one and only, Axel Foley.”

The movie’s hit soundtrack was released a few weeks earlier on January 27. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart on April 21, 1984, where it stayed until June 23, 1984. The songs "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins and "Let's Hear It for the Boy" by Deniece Williams both topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album contained other unforgettable hits such as "Almost Paradise", a duet by Ann Wilson and Mike Reno and "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler. Almost Paradise and Kenny Loggins’ other contribution to the soundtrack, "I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)", were my favorites.
