“I Get Around” was the opening track from the 1964 Beach Boys album “All Summer Long”. The album would hit the stores two months later on July 13. My late father was a fan of Surf songs, especially those by the Beach Boys and their contemporaries, Jan and Dean. Their legendary songs served as a soundtrack for his later teenage years. “I Get Around” was released as my dad was graduating from high school and entering the next chapter of his life. The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for July 4, 1964 and was the Beach Boys' first chart-topping hit. To this day, their songs still speak of youthful innocence and of fun in the sun; our endless summer.
